~Mama's Kitchen~ We're cooking Apple Sauce!

Woohoo! We finally dipped into the 70's in central Florida this week and it feels great! Fall is here, ergo, apples are in season and they are everywhere. This is great news for us because no matter how picky my boys are, they have still never pushed away an apple...well, maybe is it wasn't peeled right ;)
This week has been hectic and we've had little time to relax at home as a family and now it's Sunday night and that means the start to another busy week is ahead *sigh*
As a last minute attempt to make some Fall memories and enjoy a good snack before bed time I decided to make a quick and easy apple sauce and I wish you could all smell my house right now! *Yummy* You have to try this just to smell it!

Ingredients:
  • 4 apples
  • 1/4 cups of sugar
  • 3/4 cups of water
  • 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon
First peel, core, and chop up your apples

Mix all your ingredients in a saucepan (the kids had fun with this part)

Cover and cook on medium heat for 15-20 minutes

Smash the mixture (I used my wooded fork, just be creative)

Then, Vola! You'r done :P

I also wanted to share this fun craft we did today while at the zoo:

Painted Pumpkins.
Dare I say, just as much fun as carving!

Good Night Everyone!

Today I Am Origami Mommi...Flower

With me being surrounded by boys, it's rare that I get to indulge in cute girly crafts. So, the only option I have is to live vicariously through my friends and make cute things for their kids whenever I get the chance. When I stumbled across this cute flower I could not believe how easy this was! I especially love this because all I have to do is switch up the paper to make it suitable for a wide range of projects.

You will need the following materials:
  • Glue
  • 5- 3in x 3in square paper
  • pearl/button (optional)

Let's get started!

*Optional*
Glue a Pearl/Button in the middle
& sit back and enjoy the sight of your BEAUTIFUL flower!

See ya soon!
God Bless :)

Rooms Gone Wild, Suggestions?

I have a confession to make....I have been slacking when it comes to the decor in my house. The one room that I really feel guilty about neglecting is my boy's room. What's in there now? Their beds, a desk (it was just moved in recently because we had no where else to put it), and very small bookshelf.

Sad, I know :(

BUT....I have some ideas that my husband and I will be turning into reality very soon!
I have been thinking about doing a Jungle theme for a while now so here is what I am thinking:

This is the one thing that I am most excited about! (I love the tree idea, but I have to "boy" it up)
We have these chairs and I would love to see the walls match them.
These monkey decals would be a great addition!
Perhaps the biggest project we have to work on are these Rain Gutter Bookshelves! I LOVE them!

I will also be making a trip to IKEA soon!
If you think of something that might work I am open to ideas :)

See you soon!

Mama's Kitchen is OPEN...Pumpkin Spice Pancake Dinner!

How fast time flies! My eldest son is already 7 and my baby will be turning 2 this month *mixed emotions*. We love to go out as a family, but it's so difficult to get out with a toddler (I'm sure other parents can relate). So, as a family we came up with Friday Family Fun Night at Mama's Kitchen (Issac came up with the name <3) where we make an original recipe, play board games, and finish it up with a movie. When Issac came home from school today we started with this yummy mini pumpkin pie croissants recipe thanks to Keri *so yummy*.

After enjoying some delicious mini pumpkin pie croissants my son made an important observation, we still had some pumpkin pure left over! He wanted to make a pumpkin pie, but I was hoping for something a little less time consuming. We found common ground with pumpkin spice pancakes :D Who doesn't like breakfast for dinner? Plus, this is so easy and so tasty!

Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 cups baking mix (we already had Bisquick)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1-1/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl:

Let the mixture set for about 5 minutes
-Then-
Cook the pancakes on a frying pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray:
(I added some butter...shhhh)

Finally....Enjoy!

But will it satisfy our biggest critic?

I Come In Peace... with a Party Banner :)

Hello Blog World! As a busy mama of 2 very rambunctious boys I have never really thought of myself as the type to do a blog, but since I love to share (like the good girl that I am) I want to share some of my ideas and inspiration with you. Hopefully some of my ideas will help you in your everyday endeavors...and just so you know, I learn as I go...

I am sure that many of you would agree that party planning is apart of parenthood. My biggest problem is that I always seem to come up with a theme that has little or no decoration options available in the store. SO, to fix this problem I discovered how to make the easiest and most versatile party banner! In this tutorial I am making a banner for a friend, so no one jump to conclusions!

Materials needed:

Trace and cut out shapes:

Glue the desired letter onto the circle
Then glue the circle onto the triangle:

Punch a hole onto the top corners of the triangle:

String the ribbon through the holes:

Drum roll, please.....
The banner is complete!

Halloween Window Banner:
